Geoffrey Owens was one of the most beloved cast members in The Cosby Show. He is a notable actor who later on clinched a few roles after the NBC sitcom. However, after dealing with getting fewer roles, Owens struggled with coping with his finances. He revealed a time when he had a hard time paying his cash loans and bills that he had to work double-time. When the media photographed him working at Trader Joe’s as a regular employee while auditioning for roles, he made the news.

It made rounds on social media, which ignited conversations on the situation of working employees. Instead of being looked down upon, Owens explained his side in a red carpet event. In return, many of his co-celebrities praised and lauded him. Owens did not cover the truth and expressed his recent ordeal. His genuineness led him to bag more acting offers. Owens recently said yes for a role on Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots and on NCIS: New Orleans.
